All six mayoral candidates are scheduled to participate in a nonpartisan public forum on March 3, and it is free of charge to all members of the public.

The forum will be held in person from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Chula Vista Presbyterian Church, 490 Hilltop Drive. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to the candidates regarding policy, safety, education, and any community-related concerns.

The candidates are Chula Vista City Councilmembers Jill Galvez and John McCann, former City Councilmember Rudy Ramirez, former congressional candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar, Zaneta Encarnacion and Spencer Cash.

These candidates are running in the June 7 primary, where two candidates with the highest vote will advance in November to the general election.

Questions relating to public safety, higher-risk business, and substance abuse prevention among youth will be asked by youth group members from Chula Vista High Tech High.

The event is hosted by South Bay Youth 4 Change, Institute for Public Strategies South Bay and the Chula VIsta Chamber of Commerce.
