San Diego police are investigating why a now-arrested subject fired a firearm outside a Jack in the Box in San Ysidro Thursday afternoon.
Police spokesman Scott Lockwood said the man fired the shot shortly after 1 p.m. from outside a fast-food restaurant near the San Ysidro port of entry.
When the police showed up, the suspect fled, but agents searched the area. They found him moments later with the description provided by witnesses of the incident.
Lockwood said the subject was arrested without incident. The police also recovered the weapon with which he shot.
No one was injured as a result of the shots.
Police did not immediately release the identity of the subject.
