The Chula Vista Third Avenue Village Association (TAVA) will kick off its 25th annual Lemon Festival on Aug.13 at the heart of the City.
The event will transform Chula Vista’s historic Third Avenue into a lemon oasis from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m, bringing a variety of zesty treats, family-friendly games, competitions, and more.
“From lemon pie-eating competitions to games, lemonade, and cute pups in lemon outfits, this is definitely a free celebration you don’t want to miss!,” TAVA wrote in a statement.
The free festival celebrates Chula Vista’s rich agricultural history and its once-held reign as the lemon capital of the world.
“Although the lemon groves are no more, many of the homes in the area have their own lemon trees, reminding the residents and the generations to come of Downtown Chula Vista’s agricultural history,” TAVA said.
Residents are encouraged to visit the festival in lemon-themed attire, as there will be live music, zesty photo opportunities, lemon outfits, and lemon-sized contests.
