The County Department of Animal Services is Offering Free Pet Adoptions to Veterans This Weekend!

There will be a free adoption event for veterans and military families this weekend from May 26 to May 28.

In commemoration of Memorial Day, the County Department of Animal Services is partnering with Animals for Armed Forces free adoption event for veterans and military families this weekend from May 26 to May 28.

There will be two locations in San Diego that will host the free adoption events, Bonita South Shelter at 5821 Sweetwater Road, Bonita, CA 91902, and Carlsbad North Shelter at 2481 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad, CA 92011.

The shelters are always open for adoption from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information on this topic, you can check here https://www.sddac.com/content/sdc/das/shelter-locations.html.

As said in a statement by the County, with the adoption of a furry companion the shelters will offer free “vaccinations, a spay/neuter, a microchip, a dog license (if applicable), and a veterinary exam.”

To receive the Memorial Day adoption promotion, please bring your photo identification and
one of the following:
● Military ID
● Dependent ID
● Veterans ID
● DD-214 or
● NGB Form 22
