A San Diego jury convicted 22-year-old Seth Alan Roberts of seven felony counts on Friday for raping two women at knifepoint in late 2018 in Pacific Beach and Otay Mesa.

Deliberations occured for less than a day before finding Seth Alan Roberts guilty of seven felony counts, including two forcible rape counts. Prosecutors accused Roberts of raping his former girlfriend at a Bonita campground on Oct.18, 2018, after traveling from their home state of Oklahoma, but the jury had acquitted the charge for that alleged victim.

Jurors convicted Roberts of raping the two women in separate attacks, which occurred about a week apart in Pacific Beach and Otay Mesa when Roberts was 18 years old.

Prosecutors told jurors that Robers met one victim in Pacific Beach on Nov. 17, 2018, where he lured her into an alleyway he claimed led to his house and raped her at knifepoint.

The Otay Mesa incident occurred about a week later with a young woman Roberts initially met at a trolley station in Chula Vista. After exchanging phone numbers, he met up with the woman a few days later at her South Bay home, where the prosecutor said he raped her at knifepoint in her bedroom.

Roberts was arrested on Dec. 5. 2018 at his home in Chula Vista.

His sentencing hearing is set for Sept. 1.
