The AFSC San Diego–US-Mexico Border Program, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and defending the human rights of migrant workers and their families, reported a Border Patrol operation that blocked an intersection in a residential neighborhood of Chula Vista for several hours.
According to information released by the human rights office, the deployment took place during the early morning hours of last Sunday, following a pursuit that ended in a vehicle collision and left at least one person hospitalized.
At the scene, at least half a dozen Border Patrol units were observed, including an unmarked vehicle with a K-9 unit.
Residents in the area reported that federal agents searched the backyards of several homes during the operation.

Later, some residents stated they overheard agents saying, “We got four out of six; two runners,” according to the AFSC San Diego report.
Officers from the Chula Vista Police Department were also present for a brief period. According to witnesses, municipal officers left the scene after managing traffic in the area.
AFSC San Diego–US-Mexico Border Program reiterated that its work focuses on documenting these types of incidents and monitoring the impact of federal enforcement actions on local communities, particularly in neighborhoods where migrant families reside.
The organization made its institutional contact, usmexborder@afsc.org, available to receive information or testimonies related to this type of operation.
