Under the theme “The Power of Story,” the first San Diego Latina Authors Book Fair will take place on December 3, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., at the KPBS Conrad Prebys Media Complex at Copley Center, located on the San Diego State University (SDSU) campus.

The event will pay tribute to Latina voices that are shaping the contemporary history of literature in the United States. It will be hosted by television presenter and author Elsa Sevilla, along with award-winning author Erica Alfaro, who will also offer an additional webinar for registered participants.
Throughout the evening, attendees will have the opportunity to meet recently published Latina authors, take part in a live discussion panel with a Q&A session, and learn proven strategies for writing and publishing their own books. Light refreshments and beverages will be provided.
“We want to inspire more people to share their stories and discover the transformative power of writing,” the organizers said. They emphasized that only 8% of authors in the United States are Latino, making this fair more than a literary exhibition—it’s a movement to honor stories, strengthen communities, and give voice to a new generation of writers.
