SAN DIEGO – The foundation of the San Diego Padres organization can be summed up in one name: Peter Seidler.
Born in Alhambra, California, on November 7, 1960, Seidler was a generous businessman devoted to supporting communities, particularly those most in need.
In recognition of his lasting legacy, the San Diego Padres and the City of San Diego unveiled a new street sign bearing his name — Peter Seidler Way — located at the intersection of Trevor Hoffman Way and Park Blvd., in front of Petco Park.
The ceremony was attended by family members, friends, and Padres employees, who heard remarks from Padres Chairman John Seidler, CEO Erik Greupner, Hall of Famer Trevor Hoffman, and San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria during the proclamation event.
As is known, Peter Seidler passed away on November 14, 2023, from complications related to an infection. The event comes just days before the second anniversary of his death.
