A group of students and parents from the Garden Club at Rosebank Elementary in Chula Vista capped off their Earth Month activities with a public garden project at Chula Vista Center this weekend.
Planting more than 150 plants, the students created a thriving green space in an area that was previously just parking lot. Chula Vista Center and its various tenants provided trees, succulents, small plants, tools, decorative rocks and pebbles to create the space and mall restaurant La Central Urban Grill donated a much needed rototiller and weed hacker for the club as well.
The Garden Club created the garden as part of its ongoing activities and dedication to green space in the South Bay.
Located in the heart of Chula Vista's bustling Broadway corridor on the west side of Chula Vista, Chula Vista Center offers local residents a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment options and frequently hosts community groups and events like this Garden Club planting.
