The department said south swell conditions are present at Silver Strand Shoreline pushing ocean waters to the north. Beachgoers are being advised that bacteria levels exceed state health standards there, and ocean waters may contain sewage and cause illness.
Advisories were also issued for other beach areas including Avenida Lunar in Coronado as well as San Diego River outlets including Dog Beach in Ocean Beach, La Jolla Cove and Children’s Pool in La Jolla. Beach users are being warned that bacteria levels in those locations have also exceeded state health standards.
The ocean shoreline from the international border through the northern end of Imperial Beach will continue to remain closed until sampling confirms these areas are safe for water contact.
