Southwestern Community College is set to host their next Women’s History Month celebration tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19 at the main campus in Chula Vista.

This Women’s History Month celebration will be honoring the school’s Alumni and professional women of color. It will be a one-hour celebration from 12pm to 1pm located at Building 61, room 104 (closest to Lot J) on 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA 91910.

The celebration will feature a panel that includes Anitra Willis, Director of Enrollment Management Technology at University of California San Diego, Dennise Gurmilan, Associate Architect at Gensler, Adriana Brunner, VP of Community and Business Development at MyPoint Credit Union, and Erika de los Reyes, Assistant Facilities Manager at the Department of the Navy.

Anitra Willis says that she’s grateful to Southwestern College for providing the right tools to become a successful professional, and for sparking her life passion for the tech industry.

“Being a first-generation, low-income student, the Southwestern College Student Career Center was tremendous in helping introduce and guide me,” said Willis.

The event is based on the school’s mission to inspire and empower minority communities. The three women panelists are all Southwestern College alum and have been excelling in professional fields that have traditionally been dominated by men.
