The San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association confirms its annual Judiciary Reception, which will take place on August 23, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
The Judiciary Reception will be held on the deck of the U.S.S. Midway this Friday, where they will honor the legacy of the Honorable Judge Roy B. Cazares, filled with contributions to the Association over the years.
SDLRLA President Agustin Peña says that Judge Roy B. Cazares is considered significant in the evolution of the Association’s work throughout the community.

“For the past 15 years, we have proudly honored members of the judiciary, and I am pleased to announce that we will continue this tradition by honoring someone who holds a special place in the history of our Association,” said SDLRLA President Agustin Peña. “Judge Cazares was present at the inception of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association and shared a vision of what our organization could become. We will forever cherish his pivotal role in our community’s progress.”
Every year, the SDLRLA gathers hundreds of attendees to this annual event, which includes industry professionals such as lawyers, judges, and community leaders. The big night shines a spotlight on the industry’s legacy makers that have paved the way for the next generations of legal field workers.
Judge Cazares was appointed to the Superior Court of the South Bay branch by then-Governor Jerry Brown.

Judge Cazares passed away earlier in 2024, leaving a legacy behind and being recognized as one of the founders of the San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association.
