CHULA VISTA. — Celebrando Latinas has opened nominations for its 2026 Extraordinary Women Awards, an initiative that honors women whose work has made a positive impact in their communities.
According to the organization, anyone may nominate a candidate by completing an online form and submitting a statement of up to 500 words explaining why the nominee deserves the recognition.
“The winner will be selected based on her inspiring story, not on the number of votes,” the organization states in its call for nominations, emphasizing that the selection process focuses on each nominee’s impact and personal journey.
Award categories include Friend of the Year, Mother of the Year, Outstanding Woman, Outstanding Young Woman (ages 13–19), Entrepreneur of the Year, and Binational Woman of the Year, recognizing a wide range of leadership, service, and community contributions.
Celebrando Latinas is considered the largest Spanish-language conference for Latina women in the United States. Each year, the event brings together women interested in professional development, personal growth, entrepreneurship, health, education, and networking opportunities.
Previous editions have attracted more than 1,000 attendees, featured more than 100 local, regional, and national businesses, offered health screenings, and presented educational workshops on business, wellness, beauty, education, personal development, and legal topics.
The Extraordinary Women Awards are part of the organization’s mission to highlight stories that inspire and strengthen the Latino community by recognizing women who are creating positive change for their families and communities through leadership and service.
Those interested in submitting a nomination may do so through the online form available on the official Celebrando Latinas website. Nominators are asked to provide information about the candidate and explain why her story deserves to be recognized during this year’s conference.
The nomination period will remain open through Aug. 30, 2026, at https://celebrandolatinas.com/mujeres-extraordinarias-2026/. The awards ceremony will take place during the annual Celebrando Latinas Conference on Sept. 19 at the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center in Chula Vista.
