Families in need of food assistance in South Bay can access free monthly distributions held at various schools across the area.

These food giveaways take place every second Wednesday of the month, and attendees are encouraged to bring a bag or box to carry their items.

The schedules and locations are as follows:

  • Castle Park Middle School, 160 Quintard Street, Chula Vista – from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
  • Chula Vista Middle School, 415 5th Avenue, Chula Vista – from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
  • Montgomery Middle School, 1051 Picador Boulevard, San Diego – from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  • National City Middle School, 1701 D Avenue, National City – from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

To receive food, participants must be at least 16 years old, be present during the distribution, and be in need of food support. No proof of eligibility is required, and food will be available while supplies last.

Organizers say these initiatives aim to support local families in the South County area and ensure that resources reach those who need them most.
