Here are five of the funnest ways to celebrate Cinco De Mayo the right way.
1. Cinco De Mayo Festival and Crowning of Miss Cinco De Mayo North County
Sunday May 8th, 2022, from 11am-5pm at Grape Day Park, Escondido, CA.
This fun opportunity hosted by USA Multicultural non-profit in the heart of the historic Escondido will bring families together to celebrate this holiday, as the USA Multicultural non-profit says they intend to "unify and bring
awareness by spreading goodness through peaceful expressions of
cultural diversity through dance, singing, and other amazing talent. The
fun begins." Swing by this Sunday for a fun family-oriented time in North County, with vendors and live music at the site.
2. Search Bar at Eastlake.
Thursday May 5, 2022 at Search Bar.
Are you searching for a spot to celebrate this holiday? Well, search no further, as The Search Bar has you covered in Eastlake. This spot will be offering specials from 3-7pm including unlimited chicken or tri-top tacos for $30 per person, along with drink specials as well. Go eat, drink and dance at one of the hottest spot in Eastlake, Chula Vista.
3. Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo
Saturday, April 30 to Sunday, May 1
10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Sat), and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Sun)
Old Town will be hosting Fiesta Cinco de Mayo this weekend, where there will be live music, live performances, food options, and drinks on site for visitors to enjoy. There will also be Lucha Libre style wrestling, and other family-related activities.
4. Cinco de Mayo Trail Run-Poway
Saturday, May 6 from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Where: Lake Poway Trail, 14644 Lake Poway Road Poway
If you want to start your holiday festivities on a healthy note, you have the chance to do so in this Trail Run located in North County. Runners will go through foothills around the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve lake. This is a great opportunity for 5k and 10k runners alike to break a sweat before the celebrations begin.
5. Moonshine Beach and The Deck at Moonshine Flats
On Cinco de Mayo this week, both Moonshine locations will be providing Mexican specials for San Diegans wanting to celebrate the right way, the only way, the tequila way. The Deck at Moonshine Flats will be introducing the "the Viva La Raza shots, the Mexican Pride Shots, with each shot highlighting one of the three colors of Mexico’s flag which will include Spicy Marg Shot for green, a Rumchata Shot for white, and a Mexican Candy Shot for red.". Also, Moonshine Beach will be offering "Chamoy/Tajin rimmed Buena Cerveza or Topo Chico Hard Seltzer with a shot of El Jimador Blanco for $12 and a churro cup."
