Joseph Diaz Jr. faces Mexican rising star William Zepeda in a lightweight main event this coming November.

This week, Golden Boy Promotions announced the highly-anticipated battle between Los Angeles-based fighter JoJo Diaz Jr. and the undefeated phenomenon from Mexico, Camaron Zepeda.

The 12-round lightweight match-up is scheduled for Saturday, November 5, though the hosting venue is still yet to be announced by DAZN and Golden Boy Promotions.

The Mexican undefeated fighter has already made a big statement about his upcoming fight vs Diaz Jr with the following comments.

I am ready to dance with JoJo and give him trouble,” said Zepeda, the Mexican star who would approach this event with a 26-0 overall boxing record.

As for the Los Angeles-based fighter, JoJo Diaz says that he's excited to jump back into the ring, and he looks forward to overcoming the tough challenge that is William Zepeda.

“I am very excited to be back in the ring and do what I love,” said Diaz, Jr. “I’m going to take on the toughest challenge that will bring out the best in me. I’m going to show the shrimp what it's like to swim with the sharks.”

Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy, says that both fighters are eager to step into the ring to prove that they are championship-worthy fighters in their division.

“This fight proves that Golden Boy Promotions isn’t scared to put its fighters in tough matches to give fight fans the boxing entertainment they’re looking for,” said Oscar De La Hoya. “JoJo Diaz, Jr. and William Zepeda are both hungry fighters ready to put their reputation on the line to prove they are worthy contenders in the lightweight division. Both are aggressive southpaw fighters who come forward and are unafraid to give fans a show.”

We will update this story with venue confirmation for this event when it becomes available.
