History has been made in the modeling industry, as Sofia Jirau becomes the first woman with Down syndrome to model for Victoria Secret.

On Wednesday, the 24-year-old Puerto Rican took to social media this week to celebrate this incredible and historic achievement for her and the Latinx community.

"One day I dreamed of it, I worked on it and today it is a dream come true. I can finally tell you my big secret," Jirau wrote in a Instagram post. "I am the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down syndrome!"

That's not the only milestone she marked this week, though. Sofia also became the second Puerto Rican ever to be featured in campaign for the international modeling brand that is Victoria Secret, second to international super model, Joan Smalls.

The modeling company's new campaign becomes its first collection launch under Raul Martinez, who just recently became the brand's head creative director in January of this year. Martinez says that campaign marks a huge step into the evolution of the global phenomenon, Victoria's Secret.

“Love Cloud Collection is a major moment in the brand’s evolution. From the cast of incredible women that bring the collection to life, to the incredible inclusive spirit on set, this campaign is an important part of the new Victoria’s Secret standard we are creating," Martinez said about the campaign.

This move falls in line with the company's motto going forward of distancing itself from the perception of being a brand that caters to the traditional-looking model, as it starts to rebrand its brand to appearl to every category of women around the world.

"Thank you Victoria's Secret for seeing me as a model who has #NoLimits and making me part of the inclusive Love Cloud Collection campaign," Jirau posted on Instagram. "Inside and out, there are no limits, Alavett!"
