Well known for her starring role in Glee, actress, comedian, and author Jane Lynch had been formally inaugurated as the first female and the third celebrity mayor of Funner, Ca at Harrah's Resort Southern California.
Lynch trades in her signature series of tracksuits for a purple power suit as mayor on May 16, alongside her trusty falcon, Floyd, as she enters a new role as a politician.
“I never thought I'd be a politician. Sometimes you're born to do something, and you find the right opportunity to realize that potential,” Lynch said. “The city of Funner follows the same beliefs I have, such as enjoy life to the fullest and live enough everyday responsibly.”
Succeeding past mayors Rob Riggle and David Hasselhof, Lynch plans to launch a series of initiatives to deliver a “Funner state of mind”. She heads initiatives, including launching the resort's brand-new Hell's Kitchen restaurant this summer, overseeing entertainment at the Events Center, collaborating on new menu items and beverage offerings, conceiving programming, promoting “the zen vibes” with new spa offerings, and more.
“Jane Lynch embodies the ideals of Funner,” said Jill Barrett, senior vice president, and general manager of Harrah’s Resort SoCal. “She is the prime elected official to be the next leader of Funner, California, given her unparalleled ability to share the Funner state of mind with everyone she comes across."
According to Barret, Mayor Jane is rolling out a brand new zero-proof cocktail menu, vegan culinary offerings, two custom spa treatments, and the trusty mayoral hotline.
Chairman of the Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians Bo Mazzetti presented Lynch with a key to the city to kick-start her official tenure.
“We are thrilled to have Jane Lynch as Funner’s new mayor,” Mazzetti said. “We know that Jane’s contagious spirit and legendary experience will only continue to grow the community here at Harrah’s Resort SoCal.”
According to Lynch, “Funner is more than a place, it’s a state of mind. It’s an oasis and a reprieve from the everyday mundane, where everyone is welcome and surprises can be found at every corner”.
