An unidentified individual pulled a knife out on a security guard at a South Bay Walmart during an attempted robbery Saturday evening.
Detectives with the Chula Vista Police Department are investigating the incident, which occurred at around 7:40 p.m. at the Walmart on North Broadway. According to CVPD Lt. Lamar Barrett, the individual was seen attempting to steal merchandise.
The security guard followed the robber to a 2011 brown Mercedes and noticed a gun inside the vehicle, according to Fox 5 who first reported on the incident. The suspect fled toward state Route 54 east with two people inside the car.
The suspect remains at large and authorities are actively investigating this incident.
