Authorities search for an inmate who walked away from a Male Community Reentry Program Facility on Sunday and ask for the public to help locate his whereabouts.

Joseph Vidrios, 21, walked away from the MCRP facility at approximately 12:22 a.m. without authorization, officials with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation reported. Agents were dispatched to locate and apprehend Vidrios and notified local law enforcement.

Vidrios is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighs 178 pounds.

According to CDCR officials, Vidrios “was received by CDCR in June 2021 from San Diego County for second-degree robbery and assault with a firearm. He had been housed at the MCRP since January”.

The Male Community Reentry Program is a voluntary program for eligible incarcerated people who have two years or less of their prison sentence to serve. The program provides them the tools to reenter the community with job training, mental health support, substance abuse treatment, family reunification, and housing.
CDCR officials say that 99 percent of all offenders who have left an adult institution, camp, or community-based program without permission have been apprehended since 1977.

Anyone who sees Vidrios, or has any knowledge of his whereabouts is instructed to immediately contact law enforcement, or call 911.
