Chula Vista's own Rey Mysterio will be on the cover of the new video game WWE 2k22.

On Thursday, the most electrifying superstar in World Wrestling Entertainment confirmed that he will be on the cover of the next WWE video game that is expected to release on March 11 of this year.

The future wrestling hall-of-famer says that this is an incredible moment his career, not only for accomplishing this individual achievement, but to be able to represent all Latinos in the community.

“This is an incredible moment for me,” said Rey Mysterio. “To be able to represent the culture of Lucha Libre as the cover superstar of WWE 2K22, it’s a moment of great pride, not just for me, but for the generations that come after me and for all my people – for all of the latinos, this is a great moment.”

Video game fans will also be able to use Rey Mysterio in the "Showcase mode" included in the game, which is a game mode that allows fans to relive the life of a wrestling superstar in a video game career, in such documentary-style where the gamer controls the decision of the wrestler.

The San Diego born-and-raised professional athlete joins a legendary group of wrestlers that have been on the front cover of this video game in the past, including stars like The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Stone Cold, John Cena and many more
