The Chula Vista Police Department identified the female driver fatally struck by a Ford F-150 as 86-year-old Erlinda Yong of Bonita on Monday.
The Chula Vista Police Department received several calls on May 15 at approximately 1:28 p.m. regarding a two-traffic collision in the 600 Block of Telegraph Canyon Rd, according to CVPD Officer J. Rodrigues. Responding officers discovered that a male driver of a Ford F-150 traveled eastbound and collided with a female driver of a Honda Odyssey making a left-hand turn from Old Telegraph Canyon Road.
According to CVPD Officer John Rodriguez, the 24-year-old male driver of the Ford F-150 is still in the hospital receiving treatment and has been cooperating with the investigation. Two female occupants of the Honda Civic remain in critical condition.
Police say drugs and alcohol are not suspected as a factor in the collision.​
