A federal grand jury returned an indictment on Friday, charging two men accused of conspiring with others to import methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl from California to be sold in the Jamestown, NY, area.
U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced the indictment charging a 39-year-old Chula Vista man, La D. Huynh, also known as Paul or P, and 28-year-old Aaron Miller of Jamestown, NY. The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum of life, and a $10,000,000 fine, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
The indictment states that the two men are accused of conspiring between July 2019 and October 2020 to import drugs from California to be sold in New York, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti, who is handling the case.
The indictment is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Frank A. Tarentino III, New York Field Division, and the Jamestown Police Department, under the direction of Chief Timothy Jackson.
This effort is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces operation, who “identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach”, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.
