The Chula Vista Police Department has been inundated with reports of graffiti and vehicle damage in the neighborhood on May 27th and 28th, 2023.

One of the most alarming incidents involved a hooded figure captured on video, standing on top of a vehicle's hood and maliciously damaging the windshield. Although the suspect's identity remains unknown, witnesses described them as having a thin build, shoulder-length hair, and wearing a dark hoodie. The gender and age of the individual are yet to be determined.

In addition to the vehicle damage, numerous residents reported discovering graffiti scattered across the area. Drawings and words spray-painted in a light blue hue appeared on walls, sidewalks, and even other vehicles. The authorities are currently investigating whether the same individual is responsible for both the graffiti and the vehicle damage.

Upon receiving the reports, investigators promptly responded to the scene to collect evidence and assess the extent of the damage. To their dismay, they discovered several swastikas alongside the graffiti, suggesting a potentially troubling motive behind the acts of vandalism. The police are actively pursuing all leads and urging the community to come forward with any pertinent information that may aid in solving the case.

During the ongoing investigation, law enforcement officials became aware of social media postings related to the incidents. Some of these online clues led to the discovery of additional graffiti sites. Detectives believe there may be other victims in the area who have yet to report the crimes. Residents who have fallen victim to these acts of vandalism are strongly encouraged to contact the Chula Vista Police Department at (619) 691-5151 to file a report.
