She does it again. Julieta Venegas delivers a masterpiece in front of a sold out San Diego audience.
On Friday night, the Mexican-American artist performed at The Magnolia in El Cajon, as she nears the end of her “Vernos De Nuevo'' tour which began in early November, and finishes this Sunday night in San Francisco.
“Te amo, Julieta!!!” Those were the words the Mexican-American star heard endlessly throughout the night, as she continuously received love and appreciation from the Bordertown that saw her grow up into the Latin pop-sensation she is today.
The appreciation was reciprocated Friday night, as Venegas did not hesitate to express gratitude for her fans in San Diego.
“I am very proud to have my roots here, I am built into what I am because of this part of the world.” Venegas said to her San Diego audience.
This was the first time Venegas performed in San Diego since the rise of COVID-19, making this appearance highly-anticipated for both Julieta and her fans in this city.
“Limon y Sal” is the name of one of her classic tracks she performed Friday night, a song title that also perfectly describes the unique pair between Julieta and her San Diego fans.
And although she ended the night with the song “Me Voy”(I’m leaving), Julieta says she will be back soon to visit the city that she describes as “my hood”.
