The San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts went under lockdown after police received reports of a possible firearm seen near campus.
On Monday evening, police responded to a call that alerted officials of a man being seen in possession of either an airsoft or pellet gun. According to reports, the unidentified man was seen walking back and forth at a home balcony facing the school campus while carrying the suspected gun.
Witnesses saw police vehicles near the vicinity of the campus located in Bay Terraces.
According to reports, police surrounded a home on Dusk Drive at about 4:15 p.m., where two individuals came out of the home with their hands up. And briefly after, another individual was seen put into handcuffs outside of a home in the Alta Vista neighborhood.
However, no official report has confirmed if any of those individuals is the actual suspect.
The lockdown was lifted at around 5:30 p.m. and all students in attendance were then dismissed for the day.
No further details on the lockdown were publicly released, and any injuries have yet to be reported by officials.
