A pedestrian was struck and killed today by several vehicles that were traveling northbound on Interstate 5 after leaving the San Ysidro Port of Entry, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at 3:13 a.m. Tuesday just south of Dairy Mart Road, the CHP said.
A man was struck by an SUV in the slow lane and pronounced dead at the scene.
The SUV driver stayed at the scene and talked to the CHP about the crash, which forced the closure of multiple northbound lanes and caused a traffic backup.
No further information was immediately available.
