The San Diego American Indian Health Center will host its 34th annual powwow at Balboa Park on Saturday to showcase Native American cultures and traditions.
The event will take place at the corner of Park Boulevard and President’s Way from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
At 10 a.m. on each day of the Pow Wow, traditional Kumeyaay bird singers and dancers will open the event, followed by gourd singing at 11 a.m. There will be a grand entry at noon followed by intertribal dancers. Community leaders will be honored on each day of the event
Craft booths will be available for visitors to purchase from, along with Native American dishes such as mutton stew and frybread.
