Ryan Garcia announces that he will no longer work alongside Eddy Reynoso and Canelo Team as a whole from this point going forward.

On Saturday afternoon, The interim WBC Lightweight champion confirmed his decision, announcing that will now be working along with the legendary coach, Joe Goossenn, and also thanks Team Canelo's commitment to his individual craft and helping him become one of the future stars of boxing as he is today.

"I am excited to announce that I will be working with the Hall of Fame coach, Joe Goossen, in addition to my dad Henry García," said Ryan Garcia in statement. "I thank Eddy for everything. He has been on my corner since 2018 and I learned a lot from him, both inside and outside the ring. On behalf of my team, I wish Eddy to successfully continue his impressive career," Garcia added.

It's been a year already since the 23-year-old hasn't trained with Eddy Reynoso, but it wasn't until today that he announced his official departure from the team he has worked with for the past four years.

Since he joined forces with Reynoso in 2018, Ryan has been working side-by-side with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, who has been a mentor for the young boxer involving his boxing evolution over the years.

This unexpected news comes just a few months before his upcoming boxing fight against Emmanuel Tagoe, which is officially scheduled for April 9th at The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

And now with Garcia's departure, Eddie Reynoso will still sustain a core of quality fighters, including Canelo Alvarez, Oscar Valdez, Andy Ruiz, Joselito Velazquez and Frank Sanchez.

As for Garcia's future, the 23-year-old says that he can't wait to get to work once again with his new trainer, Joe Gooseen, whom he has worked with in the past, as he continues to strive with the same objective of becoming the face of his sport.

"I can’t wait to pick back up where we left off, and to continue this journey together. I’ll now be working out of my own gym, Fierce King, in San Diego — and my goal remains the same: to become a world champion." Garcia said.
