As the new year kicks off, San Diego is bringing exciting events for locals throughout the county. 

Here are some of the biggest events for the remainder of January: 

BIG Salsa Festival San Diego 2022: From January 14th to 17th, the Marriott hotel in Mission Valley will be hosting this big festival of salsa music. This festival is a 4-day phenomenon full of Latin features in performing arts and cultural music. 

Monster Jam: The biggest monster truck racing is back in San Diego, as monstrous mechanical vehicles compete against one another in this motor-sport event taking place at Petco Park on Saturday, January 16. 

Emo Night Brooklyn: Founded in New York City by Ethan and Alex, two long-time best friends, they formed a rock band that now tours around the country. The band will be performing live at the House of Blues this coming Friday, January 14th at 9 p.m.

The Red Headed Stranger: In tribute to the legendary Willy Nelson, Red Shepard, a Willie Nelson look-alike artist originally from Vista, will be performing at the Grand Ole BBQ Flinn Springs on Sunday, January 16th. 

SD Symphony Presents De Waart Conducts Copland at San Diego Civic Theatre: On January 14th and 15th, The San Diego Civic Theatre will host the Symphony conducted by Edo de Waart at the helm of the Orchestra. 

In Conversation with John Leguizamo: On January 29, The Colombian actor makes a stop in Escondido at the California Center for Arts. where he will be speaking on his experience growing up in Queens and then becoming a knowledgeable figure in the world of entertainment despite racial barriers.  

The Mad Hat Hucksters: The jazz sextet, founded in 2015, will be performing its 1930 swing style era of music at Panama 66 located in Balboa Park. This performance will go underway on Sunday, January 16 at 3 p.m. 

Black Joe Lewis: The Music Box proudly presents Black Joe Lewis show to San Diego locals. The band prides themselves in being funk, blues and soul-based. The band will be presented at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. 

Disney On Ice presents Dream Big: On January 22nd, Disney, the global phenomenon. will be providing a memorable experience of magic on rice for families ot enjoy at the Pachenga Arena. 

Van Gogh San Diego: On Friday January 14 at the Wyland Center at Del Mar Fairgrounds, the legendary art work will finally open and will be on display like never before seen.
