On Thursday, October 5, the City of Chula Vista will conduct a workshop exploring impacts, policies, and opportunities to address the state of unsheltered residents. The workshop will begin at 4 p.m. and take place in the City Council Chambers, located at 276 Fourth Avenue.
Staff from the City’s Housing and Homeless Services Department and Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) will provide information on the state of unsheltered residents in Chula Vista based on the City’s most recent independent point-in-time count.
Staff will also provide updates on housing and services designed to assist people toward self-sufficiency. The workshop will review potential policy options, staff recommendations, and next steps.
Public members are encouraged to participate in person or provide input via e-comments. The workshop will also be broadcast via live stream. Chula Vista City Council meetings and workshops are video recorded and aired live on Cox Cable channel 24 (only in Chula Vista). Recorded sessions are also archived on the City’s website.
