Chula Vista Police arrested two brothers last week for the violent death of 58-year-old Marco Cordero, found in an industrial area near Otay Valley Regional Park. 

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at approximately 11:38 p.m. in the 2700 Block of Faivre Street in Chula Vista. The responding officers found a man with traumatic injuries. Responding officers pronounced the man deceased at the scene despite having performed life-saving measures. 

According to CVPD Sgt. Anthony Molina, officers located two men who were believed to be involved in the incident. The men, later identified as 18-year-old Yeshua Valenzuela of Chula Vista and 22-year-old Joseph Valenzuela of Chula Vista had severe injuries which required medical attention and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. 

The suspects were placed under arrest for murder based on witness statements, according to the CVPD. 

Authorities are still investigating the homicide and are actively seeking witnesses.
