Coming from the North Pole, Santa Claus will join Chula Vista Mayor Mary Casillas Salas and Councilmember Jill Galvez on Dec.15 to flip the light switch to light up Third Avenue with Christmas lights. 

In lieu of the Starlight Parade & Children's Faire's cancellation, Christmas lights will decorate the Third Avenue Business corridor at 5 p.m. for the holidays. The entire city council will be in attendance to show support at Memorial Park, located at 373 Park Way in Chula Vista. 

“I invite everyone to come celebrate Starlight Nights on Third Avenue,” Salas said. “Starlight Nights promotes the holiday spirit, showcases our historic downtown, and lights up our Third Avenue businesses.”

The Third Avenue corridor has become a central hub for craft beer brewers, restaurants, and retailers. This event will be accessible to people of all ages.

The highly anticipated Starlight Parade is anticipated to return in 2022. It has been canceled for the past two years due to public safety concerns regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
