CHULA VISTA — The City of Chula Vista’s Public Works Department made free sandbags available to residents this week as part of ongoing preparations for the rainy conditions expected to continue through the weekend, according to a city announcement.

City officials reported that sandbags were distributed Thursday, Nov. 13, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the program continue today, Friday, Nov. 14, until 2:30 p.m., at the Public Works facility located at 1800 Maxwell Road. Residents were eligible to receive up to 10 free sandbags on a first-come, first-served basis, with proof of residency required.
