Venom: Let There Be Carnage

The fight between Venom and Carnage begins exclusively in theatres on October 1st. It’s something you can really sink your teeth into. The film shows Tom Hardy playing the role of Eddie Brocker, an investigative journalist who is merged with the alien symbiote Venom. Brock tries to reignite his career in journalism by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kassady who becomes the host of the alien symbiote spawn of Venom, Carnage. With direction by Andy Serkis and screenplay by Kelly Marcel, the film also features all star performances by Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson as the villain Cletus Kassady ~ Carnage.

Venom is based on the Spider-Man comic’s villain who made a brief appearance on screen in Spider-Man 3 in 2007. Sony attempted to make a spinoff of the character’s storyline and intended on meshing the world of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe of Spiderman but decided to distance the film. Williams stars as Anne Weing, Eddy’s love interest. Looking closely one can see an outline of a “She Venom” as an alter ego she developed when merging with the alien symbiote during a pivotal moment within the first movie, possibly a reappearance on this film.

The film was initially scheduled to be theatrically released in October 2020 but was delayed due to COVID-19, with two more expected dates delayed now set for October 1st, 2021. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release in hope that this last date will remain on track.
