The Chula Vista Traffic Bureau along with the Chula Vista Police Department is investigating an incident that hospitalized a pedestrian.

Authorities reported on the morning of Nov. 3 just before 11 a.m, the collision. A 28 year old male traveling westbound on C Street collided with a red parked vehicle that in turn hit a pedestrian who was standing behind a work truck in front of the red parked vehicle. The cause of the collision is yet to be determined. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision.

The pedestrian was trapped under a vehicle as a result of the collision. According to Chula Vista Lt. Rusty Rea, the car crash amputated both of the worker's legs. 

A local resident provided a car jack and assisted the CVPD along with the CVFD to free the man, resulting in his hospitalization at a local trauma center. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital.
