An Amber Alert is in place for a 7-month-year-old baby from San Diego after authorities found her mother's remains in Tijuana.
Mexican authorities issued an Amber Alert in Baja California on June 9 for Valentina Sabean, who has been missing since April 17, when her parents reportedly crossed the border to Tijuana. The baby’s mother, Racquel Sabean had been found dead in an abandoned vehicle, wrapped in a white blanket on May 31, but authorities have yet to locate the baby’s father, identified as Paul W. PH.
Baja California Attorney General Ricardo Carpio told Tijuana media that “probably, the father is the suspect, and he could take us to find the baby”. Caprio said that authorities in Tijuana are working with U.S. Authorities in this case.
“The support of citizens and the media is required to find the whereabouts of the minor since she is in a situation of vulnerability and may be the victim of a crime, or suffer damage to her health,” reads the Amber Alert from the Baja California Prosecutor's Office.
According to a description released by authorities, the baby is a U.S. citizen and has sparse light brown hair, blue eyes, fair complexion, sparse eyebrows, a broad forehead, a medium nose, and large ears.
Deana Gilbert, who served the Navy with Sabean between 2000 and 2002 on USS Blueridge stationed in Japan, told NBC 7 that “there is an amber alert in Baja California, but there is nothing in this nation about this, and she is a United States Veteran.”
