Authorities found the non-ambulatory man with dementia who went missing last weekend from the Chula Vista senior assisted living facility.
Christopher Dawsknowles, 79, was last seen on July 2 wheeled away by 32-year-old Thomas Pina Gonzalez in the 100 Block of Third Avenue, Chula Vista. According to police, their destination was unknown, and the wheelchair was left behind.
The Chula Vista Police Department said Dawsknowles remained at large until Thursday when detectives located him and "determined to be safe and receiving proper services”.
No other information about the case was made available.
Department officials thanked those who reached out with information on social media and through the department’s non-emergency line.
