Ryan Fellows, the Chula Vista father of two and Street Outlaws: Fastest in America” star died early Sunday in a fiery crash during the filming of the Discovery show.
Fellows was driving a gold Nissan 240z and lost control while racing another driver in Nevada, according to TMZ who first reported on the matter, citing an inside source.
He was 41.
The show confirmed the news in a post on its official Twitter account: “The Street Outlaws family is heartbroken by the accident that led to the tragic death of Ryan Fellows. We extend our deepest sympathy to Ryan's loved ones as they process this sudden and devastating loss.”
The Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the crash, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Fellows is survived by his wife Liz and children Josiah, 18, and eight-year-old Olivia.
A Go-Fund-Me created for his family reads: “Ryan was an avid car enthusiast and was a road “warrior” in many ways that extended to loves of basketball, cars, and business in sales/advertising. He was admired for tenacity and a relentless drive to overcome the challenges before him.”
