The San Diego Yarn Crawl calls all knitting, crochet, yarn, fiber, weaving, and textile art enthusiasts throughout the county in a free annual event that highlights local yarn stores and alpaca farms.
The event will take all participants from Ramona to Chula Vista, and many points in between from Sept. 8-11. The event spotlights local shops and farmers, and a schedule detailing specific crawl hours is available online.
"Our Yarn Crawl gives you the unique opportunity to visit both yarn shops and alpaca farms. Prepare for a very unique experience as you get back to the “country” environment and experience two actual San Diego county alpaca ranches, one with a mill that makes yarn," reads the event website.
Emy’s Yarn, a buisness based in Chula Vista, will participate in the event, and will host a “fast knitting” contest at 4 p.m. at 261 Broadway. Emy’s Yarn is poised to officially unveil the new mural on their building facade, painted by local artist Michelle Guerrero, also known as “Mr. B Baby Art”.
There are a total of eight stops in the free self-guided 2022 San Diego Yarn Crawl.
