The Chula Vista Police Department arrested four juveniles who crashed into a fire hydrant on Saturday after allegedly taking a stolen vehicle out on a joy ride. One juvenile remains at large.

Witnesses reported seeing five juveniles running away after crashing the stolen vehicle at around 7:47 p.m. in Chula Vista near Robert Avenue and I Street, according to OnScene T.V. The incident sent water shooting approximately 50 feet into the air.

It took crews approximately 15 minutes to shut the water off.

Officers searched for the suspects, three males, and two females, who fled on foot into the neighborhood and hid in different locations. Authorities used the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office’s ASTREA helicopter to search the area.

The Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter uses a loudspeaker when searching for a missing person or suspect. Announcements are also made during critical incidents such as a SWAT standoff, disasters, crowd management events or to give people a shelter-in-place notification.

You can text or call or text "Hello" to (858) 866-HELO each time you hear Sheriff's ASTREA making announcements over your area.

No injuries were reported in this incident.
