Now that 4th of July weekend is over, it's time to present some cool activities going on in San Diego this weekend.
Here are 5 events taking place near you this weekend.
1. Downtown Chula Vista Block Party – Friday
Date: 07/08/2022 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM on Third Avenue between E Street and Park Way
No better way to start the summer than with a community event that features low riders, live music, fun zone for children, food vendors, and much more.
The event will also include the following highlights, according to event organizers:
- The City will recognize more than 3,000 individuals/groups for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as other community, scholastic and athletic achievements.
- 6:40 p.m., there will be a San Diego Padres Watch Party on a giant screen located on the corner of Third Avenue and Davidson Street.
- The Sesame Place Children’s Fun Zone will have activities for the little ones and a Prize Patrol will be giving random lucky winners two free tickets to Sesame Place.
2. San Diego Pride 2022 – Saturday
July 9, 12 PM – Jul 17, 9 PM
The city's Pride Festival is kicking off this weekend and taking place from July 9 through the 17th at Balboa Park.
She Fest (Noon – 6pm): This event will be highlighting LGBTQ+ women and also non-binary people, also creating opportunities to network among LGBTQ+ businesses and with potential new audiences. She Fest says they are aiming at bringing people together by investing-in and celebrating its community.
3. Cassie B Project at Tin Roof in Downtown, San Diego – Saturday
Cassie B Project never fails to bring the house down when performing at the Tin Roof. Cassie plays some of the most memorable songs across all genres that are instantly recognized by the audience at every performance.
Cassie B Project states the following on its official website: "Cassie B Project aims to reach every age and generation through live music. While they love to get the party started with the latest Top 40s hits, they are no stranger to the nostalgic music of the past!"
4. Saturday Night Speed Dating at Fairweather Bar – Saturday
8:00 PM – 10:00 PM PDT
Are you single? Do you want to mingle? Are you between the age of: 26-38? Well, look no further. We've got a great opportunity for you to meet a potential fling or soulmate this weekend in Downtown, San Diego. Swing by to Fairweather Bar this Saturday

5. BAYFEST 2022 at Waterfront Park – Saturday
July 9 at 12 p.m.
Organizers teamed up to create this musical festival at the beautiful Waterfront Park in Downtown, San Diego. Locals will be able to enjoy an incredible musical lineup such as San Diego's own TRIBAL SEEDS and ATMOSPHERE coming from Minneapolis. There will also be exceptional local food and drinks served by local bartenders at the event.
"The goal of Bayfest is to break down what works in San Diego and stick with it. At the festival aside from high energy musical performances you will find local food vendors including Taco Stands, local bartenders pouring Craft Beer and Craft Cocktails as well as an assortment of local crafts and vending booths," organizers announced.
