A man was taken into custody in connection to the death of a 22-year-old woman who was stabbed Sunday morning in Sabre Springs.

Fatima Marin Cedillo, 22, was reportedly fatally stabbed by her cousin, Uriel Cedillo, also 22, at around 2:30 a.m. in the early hours of Sunday.

The suspect was located and found on 12500 Oak Knoll road at around 10 a.m. and was arrested by officials in connection to the murder of Fatima Marin.

It all started around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning, police were notified by two calls of a woman being stabbed at a park in Sabre Springs located in the 11500 block of Meadow Grass Lane, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The 22-year-old woman was fatally wounded after receiving one wound directly to her upper body, according to SDPD'S Lieutenant Andra Brown.

Police say she was suffering from her wound before she was eventually rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead an hour later at 3:45 a.m.

The homicide detective says the 22-year-old woman had arrived at the community park with several people. And shortly after, she had walked away with the damage already done to her upper body.

"Detectives have learned the female arrived at the park with friends and walked over to a group already there," said Lieutenant Andra Brown said. "After a brief encounter, she walked away from them and told her friends she had been stabbed," she added.

According to officials, the suspect and cousin, Uriel Cedillo, drove away from the scene, driving a dark vehicle. Cedillo is now in Central Jail and is put behind bars without bail.

Authorities say that anyone with helpful information involving Sunday's incidents should call the city's Homicide Unite at (619) 531-2293 or contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
