CHULA VISTA (CNS) – Sarah Schoen was named the new finance director
for Chula Vista today, where she will be responsible for the city's fiscal year
2021-22 budget of $472.9 million.

   Schoen brings more than 20 years of municipal financial experience to
the city team. She is a graduate of San Diego State University and a certified
public accountant.

   Schoen began her career in finance as an accountant with the city of
San Diego.  During her time with San Diego, she held various positions of
increasing responsibility including principal accountant and deputy director in
the comptroller's office.

   She most recently served as the assistant director for the department
of finance, where she was responsible for directing and managing quarterly
budget monitoring, accounting and budget development liaison services to
departments, personnel expenditure support for all facets of the budget
process, financial analysis for labor negotiations and citywide payroll.

   "I am excited to join the city of Chula Vista's talented leadership
team and look forward to doing my part to deliver superior services to this
vibrant community,'' Schoen said.
