The city of Chula Vista is planning to house 66 individual units south of Main Street and Broadway to shelter homeless individuals and families. The city hopes to open this project in January.
This effort has surface from a community concern since the city decided to return a sprung structure loaned from the nonprofit Lucky Duck Foundation. Last night during the council meeting the nonprofit Community Through Hope held a peaceful rally to demand accountability from city officials.

City Council will review proposed plans for a new shelter on Nov. 9.
