In light of recent COVID-19 surges, the city of Chula Vista implemented measures to maintain the safety of city staff and the community.
Appointments will be required for services in two city departments and the Jan. 18 City Council meeting will be held virtually.
The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility (CVACF)
The CVACF will be open by appointment only for the remainder of the week of Jan.10-15.

The Development Service Department
The Development Service Department, which issues permits, reviews plans, provides inspection services and more, is returning to appointments only until at least Jan. 21. Appointments will be available from 12 p.m.to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday.

Chula Vista City Council Meetings
While the Jan. 11 Chula Vista City Council meeting will be held in person, seating capacity is reduced and masks are required of all people in City buildings regardless of vaccination status. The meeting also will be broadcast over speakers outside Council Chambers so people may maintain social distance and hear the meeting and comments.
Residents may address the council in person or by submitting an eComment; check the website for details.
The Jan. 18 City Council meeting will be held virtually and plans are for the January 25 City Council meeting to be held in person with reduced seating.
These measures should be extended if the surge continues.
