Downtown Chula Vista’s Starlight Nights will return for another holiday season to light up the heart of the city.

The family-friendly event kicks off on Dec. 4 from 3:30 p.m-7:30 p.m in downtown Chula Vista. There will be a tree lighting ceremony at 5:45 p.m. on the plaza at the northwest corner of Memorial Park, located at 373 Park Way.

The City of Chula Vista and Downtown Chula Vista is preparing this celebration to be like never before. That is, according to Dominic Li Mandri, District Manager of the Downtown Chula Vista Association.

Mandri says this year's celebration will present a new jaw-dropping addition to the local holiday tradition.

“This years’ Starlight Nights is like nothing we have done before,” said Dominic Li Mandri, District Manager of the Downtown Chula Vista Association. “Along with providing a family-friendly experience, a holiday market featuring local businesses and live music, we are beyond excited to present everyone with our new neighborhood 25-foot Christmas tree. There is nothing quite like the magic of Christmas, and we can’t wait to see everyone stop by and celebrate the magic of the holidays with us.”

New this year is a 25-foot tall tree which will be a beautiful addition to the festive holiday lighting throughout downtown with 28,800 LED lights and 26 five-foot tall lighted snowflakes installed on streetlight poles along Third Avenue.

There will also be a Chula Vista Express trackless train for your family to enjoy while there's live music playing in the background from the main stage at Memorial Park. The event will also feature Santa for pictures throughout the night for all families in attendance.

City of Chula Vista's Mayor Salas will also be joining the rest of our local community in attendance for this festive event.

The lighting displays will remain through early January 2023.
