Clean Energy Salsa Festival is bringing Salsa to Chula Vista this coming weekend.
Chula Vista locals, and San Diego residents alike, are invited to attend the "Clean Energy Salsa Festival" this Saturday, March 26, at the Memorial Bowl.
The best part of this fun event? It's FREE.
The festival is being sponsored by Powur solar, whose company mission is to "accelerate the adoption of sustainable energy worldwide."
Representing Powur solar is Walter Meneses, who is also one of the event's organizers, and he says that this event is being put together to raise awareness on the topic of solar energy and to place emphasis on the globe's biggest environmental issue today.
"In this event, we want to raise awareness on solar energy," Meneses says. "The importance to continue to fight against the global issue that is climate change," he added.
The event will also consist of live salsa music for those in attendance, and better yet, there will be a taquero on site for the first 50 people that register for this event.
Charlie Chavez y his Afrofruko Orquesta will be taking care of the music performance for this event, bringing a salsa rhythm for everyone in attendance to enjoy with their families.
Meneses says that Charlie is a highly respected performer within his salsa connections. He has no doubt that the live music will play into the fun family environment at the Clean Energy Salsa Festival.
"Charlie Chavez has been playing music for decades now, and I've known him for many years, and he's very well respected within the salsa community," Meneses said. "To provide live salsa music this Saturday, out in the sun, and the opportunity to dance with anyone in attendance, it will be good," he added.
