A 67-year-old El Cajon man died after the vehicle he was driving went off the road and struck a tree, the California Highway Patrol said today.
The victim approached a left curve in the roadway of Willow Glen Drive, and for reasons still under investigation, he allowed his 2000 Nissan Frontier to veer to the right and off the road, according to the CHP.
When the vehicle exited the roadway, it struck a tree near 1919 Willow Glen Dr, causing the 67-year-old to become unconscious and suffer major injuries, according to authorities.
He was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he died a short time later from his injuries, according to the CHP. It was unknown if alcohol and or drugs were a factor in the crash, as an investigation was ongoing.
