Listed below are closures and changes of hours for the City of Chula Vista offices and facilities including recreation centers and libraries during the holiday season. All facilities will be closed Dec. 24 and 31 unless otherwise indicated below:
Police and Fire: Emergency 9-1-1 response will remain fully operational; police officers and firefighters will maintain normal schedules with the police lobby closed on Dec. 24 and 31.
Animal Care Facility will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24 and remain closed until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28. On Dec. 31, they will close at 4 p.m. and remain closed until Tuesday, January 4.
Community Centers: Chula Vista Community Centers will be closed for drop-in use from Monday, Dec.20 – Sunday, Jan. 2. Centers will be available and open for scheduled programming with camps, classes, and rentals. Visit the city's website for more details on programs at each facility.
Libraries: All three Chula Vista Public Libraries-Civic Center, South, and Otay Ranch will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 23 and Dec. 30. All branches will be closed Dec. 24 -26 and Dec. 31- Jan. 1, and all branches will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 27-Dec. 29. Regular hours resume on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022.
Public Works Operations: Closed Dec. 23, 24, and 31.
City Parks: City parks will be open during regular hours including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
City Hall/Civic Center Complex: Administrative offices at 276 Fourth Ave. (City Attorney, City Clerk, City Manager, Economic Development, Human Resources, Housing, Fire Administration, Fire Prevention, Development Services, Engineering, and Finance) will be closed on Dec. 24 and 31. The above offices will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 23 and Dec. 30.
Household Hazardous Waste Facility: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan.1, but will be open Dec. 29.
